Bach Long - The Longest Glass-bottomed Bridge In The World

Spread the love

The Moc Chau district of Son La Province in Vietnam is home to Vietnam’s brand-new glass-bottomed
bridge, which was just recently recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest in the world. This development is expected to attract a large number of tourists interested in experiencing extreme activities.

A Guinness World Record Structure

After reopening to international tourists, on April 28, 2022, the most glass-bottomed bridge has been put into operation. The bridge is known as Bach Long which means “White Dragon”. It is situated in the Moc Chau district in Son La province borders Laos and is roughly 200km northwest of Hanoi.

After the Love Bridge and Rong May Bridge (both in Lai Chau), this transparent bridge is the third glass bridge in the nation (also Moc Chau). What makes this bridge special than others? It was just crowned the longest bridge in the world, surpassing China’s bridge in Quingyuan, Guangdong province.

Glass-bottomed Bridge

The structure winds 290 meters up a steep cliff before crossing the valley on a 342-meter suspension bridge supported by solid cables.

The bridge’s floor has made from 250 reinforced tempered glass panels. They consist of many vinyl layers laminated together, a method employed in the storm and cyclone-prone areas. The building, which has been described as very durable, is designed to house 450 people at once.

More Than a Bridge, a Real Tourist Attraction

Since it opened, there have been a ton of positive comments on social media; the wow factor is high and is generating awareness about this enormous accomplishment. For people who are afraid of heights, the see-through bottom is definitely not a good idea since it gives the impression that you are strolling in thin air over a lush forest.

Everyone else will be able to take full use of the bridge’s 360-degree panorama and capture breathtaking pictures and selfies in the process. While the sidewalk has been treated to prevent slipping, use caution when it rains.

Its site was not chosen at random, and Bach Long is not a bridge constructed far from a popular tourist spot. It is the centerpiece of the Moc Chau Island complex, a resort with lodging and a restaurant that provides a variety of recreational and entertaining activities.

Is Glass-bottomed Bridge Safe?

The bridge was built in accordance with stringent international safety requirements. The bridge deck is composed of three layers of 40-millimeter-thick reinforced glass. In addition, a tight mechanism ensures that the bridge is never overloaded. Authorities are convinced that the glass is safe. Before opening to the public, an SUV was driven over it to test its strength. Everything was unharmed.

Now that you know it’s safe, do you have the courage to do it?

Those who are aware that their confidence (and legs) may falter will be relieved to learn that they are not required to traverse the glass pathway hands-free. There is a thin white strip on either side (the glass frame) that may be delicately followed while holding the rail. Take your time to appreciate the verdant landscape…

Nearby Attractions

Let’s be honest: crossing a bridge with a glass bottom isn’t for everyone. Even if you have a fear of heights, there are many more reasons to go to the Moc Chau area, which is famous for its pleasant weather.

Thong Cuong Village

Thong Cuong village is situated in the middle of the communes of Dong Sang in the Moc Chau district and Xuan Nha in the Van Ho district. The route to Thong Cuong passes through valleys covered with white flower bloom. This is also one of the most popular places in the area for younger people to take photographs.

Pine Forest & Ang Village

Pine Forest and Ang Village are located on Moc Chau Plateau. This region is notable for more than just its crisp and refreshing environment. The landscape is not only beautiful, but it also protects the cultural riches that the Thai people hold dear.

To get to Ang village from Moc Chau Farm Town, you must go approximately 2km South on Highway 43. When looking at Ang village from above, the village has an incredible view like a water painting, with traditional stylish buried behind canvas green plants. Hidden behind pine trees planted on reddish brown fertile hills is a natural lake with an area of 5 hectares. In the distance, the landscape of the Moc Chau plateau, particularly in the spring, with its tea hills, green pasture, flowers, banana blooms, and plum-blooming white woodland seemed to enhance Angle’s attractiveness. spiritual, romantic.

Ang village belongs to the Thai people. They mostly live in agriculture (tea, corn, rice,…), traditional breeding, and handicraft. Residents of the Ang community still maintain an authentic cultural identity. Particularly traditional stilt houses, costumes, folk music, folk games, and the ceremony. You should not skip Moc Chau in favor of Ang village. Because you will get the chance to experience rural living (on the floor, rice pudding, tea plucking down the hill, stream fishing…)

Pa Phach Village

The route to Pa Phach is quite dangerous since it passes through a series of ascending sweat. When above the mountain, one could view a valley of blue sky plum, peach, and a few Hmong homes concealed in the forest. When seen from this side of the plateau, Moc Chau is covered with lush green grass, fresh crops, and grazing dairy cattle.

As a result of the terrain between the two mountains, Pa Phach is progressively enlarged to generate three duplicates of the Green of the Mongolian. The climate is often chilly, particularly in the afternoon when it is foggy due to the abundance of nearby trees. Dense sealed like in the fog.

Moc Chau Tea Hill

One of the most famous things in the Moc Chau Plateau is the green tea hills, stretching across the hills. Tea is cultivated everywhere in the hills and blended with paper flowers that bloom in the chilly mist. Heart of Tea Hill is situated on the route to Ngu Dong Ban, about 15 kilometers from Moc Chau Farm.

With so many hills, it is tough to find a suitable location for photographs. About 3 kilometers from the Cong Doan Hotel are the tea hills directly beyond the tea farms, which are the nearest to the town. On the approach to Ngu Dong Ban, there is a roadway lined with several magnificent tea hills of unusual form. Such as an S form, a wave shape, and a heart shape… A bit farther, Tan Lap tea hill is almost 20 kilometers from Moc Chau Farm Town. Your Vietnam trip will be unforgettable if you spend two or three days seeing Moc Chau.

Final Thoughts

The glass-bottomed bridge is an incredible construction not only in terms of its world recognition but also in terms of architecture and the value it brings to Vietnam’s tourism industry. Besides the glass bridge, if you visit Moc Chau Plateau, there have so many destinations here to explore.
