Srah Srang is a baray or a reservoir at the famous Angkor, just east of Banteay Kdei. Made in 10th century, Srah Srang is not only a royal bathing pool but also an archaeological site. The lake is also known as a great spot to watch sunset and view to Angkor park.
A ‘floating’ temple used to exist on this reservoir, but all that remains are the sculptural serpents which guard over the shore. During the day, there’s little to see, but in the long balmy evenings, local youngsters gather at the water’s edge to watch the sunset blaze and glitter on the water.
