Kbal Spean is located about 12km from Banteay Srei and, in terms of a day-trip, its natural beauty compliments the man-made splendor of Banteay Srei. Kbal Spean was the refuge of 11th – 13th century religious hermits and over the time they carved lingas stands, animals and sacral friezes into the surrounding rocks and riverbeds.
Morning, pick up from your hotel and drive to the Kulen Mountain range. Walk 45 minutes through the forest to the top of the hill to reach Kbal Spean, the Thousand Linga River to discover the 10th-12th century sculptures chiseled from the rocky riverbed, the Royal Bath and the waterfall. Next, continue to visit Banteay Srei, the citadel of women - a tiny, enchanting temple, which is one of the jewels in this remarkable city. Built of red sandstone in the tenth century and dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, the carved male and female figures in the niches are exquisitely executed in both style and proportion. This is the most Indian of all the temples in Angkor and in the words of H.W. Ponder, is a fairy palace in the heart of an immense and mysterious forest. Stop at a local village to visit families who are producing palm sugar. Return to Siem Reap.
Notes: You are recommend wearing good shoes for this excursion. The walk up to Kbal Spean takes about 45 min each way and there are a few steep and narrow passages on the way. For your comfort, we suggest you to carry all your personal belongings (camera, water etc.) in a small backpack in order to have both hands free to walk comfortably.

Most countries in South East Asia require you to obtain a visa. Please check carefully with your travel specialist regarding specific visa requirements for each country you plan to visit as the legislation does change frequently. Thailand offers a free visa on arrival to most nationalities. Other countries including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar offer a “visa-on-arrival” service which requires you to pay a fee at the airport, or you may prefer to obtain this in advance through the relevant embassy or a visa agent. For visa-on-arrival in Vietnam, you must submit some paperwork before you arrive.
This is an option to get your visa for Vietnam instead of getting visa at the Vietnam consulate in your country.
