Far about 10km from Da Nang City, Son Tra Peninsula gradually becomes an ideal tourist attraction. Tourists will be overwhelmed with breathtaking natural landscapes, pristine beaches, and fascinating blue waters here.

Son Tra Peninsula is located in the territory of Son Tra district, about 10km from the city center to the northeast. It covers an area of 60 km2 with the length of 13km, the width of 5 km, and the narrowest part of 2 km. With an elevation of 693m above sea level, standing on top of Son Tra, tourists comfortably enjoy fresh cool breezes from the sea, along with the vast space of luxuriant greenery. Here, tourists can sweep a panoramic view on wonderful natural landscapes of Da Nang City, Marble Mountains, and Ba Na – Chua Mountain.

A vast jungle with many rare and precious animals, colorful coral reefs, and captivating coastline… is the wonderful gift that nature has generously bestowed Son Tra Peninsula – “a precious natural pearl” of Da Nang tourism. Eventually demanding tourists can become hypnotized by the sparkling blue sea water, and in the distance, a dazzling array of colorful marine creatures and coral reefs can be seen. Son Tra is the only jungle in Vietnam locating in the heart of the young city. Son Tra Peninsula is home to the diverse and rich natural reserve with 4,000 ha of covering forest, in which a portion of hilly land is surrounded with industrial crops. It is also interference of South – North flora and fauna. With the importance and values of nature, the region is protected under national forbidden forest regimes. According to reliable statistics and surveys, Son Tra is refuge of rare animals such as deers, monkeys, gibbons, and orangutans… More particularly, stretching a total area of 4,000 hectares, it is home to around 1,000 different plant species, 51 birds, 15 reptiles, and 42 species of coral. Red cheek gibbons and a species of turtle are among the animals living in the area that are also listed in Vietnam Red Book of endangered species.

 

Apart from the previous jungle, coastal region in Son Tra Peninsula retains numerous beautiful beaches. The natural scenery here is a harmonious combination between mountains and waters creating a unique beauty which far different from other beaches. Along with the appearance of Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien) and Stone Stream (Suoi Da) on the mountains, there are series of beaches alternately here: Buddha (Bai But) Beach, Bai Rang Beach, Bai Nom Beach, and Bai Nam Beach… Water in Son Tra owns magnificent coral reefs captivating a great number of tourists who prefer to admire and explore the biological world in the ocean. Son Tra Peninsula is today slightly unspoiled and also offers a series of wonderful beaches, namely My Khe Beach, Pham Van Dong Beach, T20, and attractive resorts: Furama Resort Da Nang, Sunny Beach, Olalani, or Silver Shore Hoang Dat spanning dozens of kilometers. In addition, tourists have an opportunity to admire thousand-year-old banyan tree when coming here. On the top of Son Tra Peninsula is Ban Co Peak. Besides, Linh Ung Pagoda – Buddha (Bai But) Beach now is regarded as the largest Buddhist pagoda in Da Nang City in both scale and architectural art. The pagoda brings a modern style combining with inherent traditional architecture of Vietnam pagodas. The dragon-shaped curved roof together with firm pillars sophisticatedly designed strongly left impression to tourists.

 bright green space of forests, airy and slight moments, and bright blue water always brings the inspiration of the nature and people in Da Nang. Son Tra Peninsula, where the word “nature” is concretely defined, is indeed one of the most promising destinations when going to Da Nang.
