Hue is one of the most popular destinations for tourists to Viet Nam. In comparison with other ancient capitals in southeast Asia, Hue is the one that still preserves comparatively the intact appearance of a complex of the monarchic capital consisting of walls, palaces, royal tomb, etc. This day trip brings you to explore the lives and learn about the history of the city under the 13 Nguyen Emperors. This is also a good opportunity to admire the 18th-century architecture of the UNESCO ancient imperial city.

Then transfer to visit the Royal Palace which has three perimeters of rampart, namely outside to inside:

  • Capital Citadel: This construction started in 1805 under the reign of Emperor Gia Long and was completed in 1832 under the reign of Emperor Ming Mang
  • Royal Citadel: The Imperial City is located in the center of the Citadel where established highest offices of Viet Nam's feudalism and sanctums honoring the cult of decreased
  • Forbidden Citadel: Located inside the Imperial City, behind the Throne Palace, the Forbidden Purple City is reserved for Emperor and his family.
After lunch, enjoy a visit to The tomb of King Khai Dinh is located in Chau Chu Mountain near Hue in Vietnam. It was built 1920 to 1931 taking 11 years to complete. In comparison with those of the preceding emperors, Khai Dinh’s tomb is much smaller on the surface but it is very elaborate. It is the result of the intermingling of many architectural trends: European and Asian, as well as ancient and modern.
Conclude your day at the Incense stick-making village, and observe how locals make sandalwood and cinnamon incense.
